What Is It?

Colombian Roast provides the flavors coffee lovers love. With a distinctive hint of nuts from the coffee and ganoderma, this deep-roasted coffee has mellow acidity and a caramel type sweetness and is one of the most recognizable coffee flavors in the world.

KEY INGREDIENTS

Arabica coffee –Arabica coffee is the finest, richest coffee in the world. The beans we use have a unique sweet-soft flavor. The unroasted beans smell like blueberry and once roasted, they yield a floral/fruit floral scent that speaks to its soft flavor. They are grown at higher altitudes than other coffee beans, in cool, subtropical climates.

Ganoderma – also known as the red Reishi mushroom, this mild flavor adds a note of depth to the coffee flavor and brings it’s own benefits. Ganoderma mushrooms provide triterpeniods and amino acids. Ganoderma mushrooms are ‘adaptogens’.

Ganoderma has been used in traditional Asian culture for thousands of years. The name Ganoderma means “spiritual potency”, while the Japanese name Reishi can be translated as “King of Herbs”.

DID YOU KNOW?

Colombia is the #1 producer of Arabica coffee beans in the world and accounts for about 12% of coffee grown in the world. The average coffee farm in Colombia is a 2 acre piece of land. A coffee tree takes 3-4 years to grow before it bears coffee berries. The berries are then hand- picked when the berry is a bright red and there are typically 2 coffee beans inside one berry. One tree produces about 1 pound of coffee.

The land in which coffee is grown (much like fine wine) can dramatically impact the taste. Colombian coffee gets its flavorful sweetness from the rich soil, the cool mountain air, and how it is processed. The typical Colombian process includes a wet soak (fermentation) that helps provide the mild acidity so many coffee lovers enjoy.
